ZTE Axon 7
Hello, Folks! Today I’m going to do a full specifications review of ZTE Axon 7. It was launched in 2016, June and that time it was one of the best $400 phones but right now we can get this phone for just about 245 dollars. This phone offers all-metal builds, great design, great specifications and a lot more. So, let’s start-
Design & Display: –
The ZTE Axon 7 is one of the most premium, nice-looking and well-made phones you can buy even if we compared it to the most expensive flagships out there. It comes in the Gold and Grey colour both colours look just nice.
For above 240 bucks, you get an all-metal phone with a brilliant 5.5-inch 2K resolution AMOLED display. It has a great display with the vibrant colours. The viewing angles are good and the sunlight legibility is great. A powerful camera with optical image stabilization and some other goodies and a lot of sheer power.
You also get a super fast and accurate fingerprint scanner and high-quality metal buttons, notification LED light, 8-megapixel Selfie shooter and last but not least a superb all-around audio experience. The sound quality via the headset jack is just miles ahead of many phones I’ve tested in recent memory and finally, the front-facing speakers are so good that they can easily rival most of the today’s expensive flagships.
The Axon 7 has 20-megapixel main camera f/1.8 aperture lens with optical image stabilization and Dual LED two-tone flash. The 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture lens.
The overall picture quality is just fantastic for the sub $245 phone. You can expect it to take great looking images with plenty of detail. Even though the quality decreases in low-light so the pictures are still one of the best on any phone in this price segment.
Same can be said about the selfie image quality and 4K video as the footage looks just great.
Processor, Memory Performance: –
The ZTE Axon 7 powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC which clocked at Quad-Core up to 2.3GHz Processor with 4 gigabytes of RAM and 64 gigabytes of storage which is expandable up to 256GB via micro SD card. The Axon 7 ships with Adreno 530 graphics card.
The phone ships with an older processor but still the Axon 7 handle even the most demanding tasks like gaming and day-to-day performance is just excellent. Even the latest 3D games work just fine which is really impressive.
The ZTE Axon 7 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and the overall user experience is just great. The phone feels so much smoother and faster than it used to be when it shipped with Android 6 when it was just launched. Well, I don’t really like that MiFavor UI changes the design of the icons and removes the app tray but there are a lot of customization options and little tweaks to play with. I can’t say that all of them are useful but it’s nice to have the ability to customize the navigation bar, change themes, wallpapers transition effects and so on. The overall smoothness and speed of the UI is the thing that I like the most.
As you can expect the Axon 7 performs very well in the connectivity department just like it used to do when it was just released as the budget flagship device. Also, it ships with a bunch of sensors including a Gyroscope that many of the budget phones lack.
It has a 3250 milliamp-hours battery. You also get a great battery life out of this phone as I was able to get over 6 hours of screen time or use the phone for at least a single full day or more. In addition, the Axon 7 ships with a fast charger that can fully charge the phone in just about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
All-in-all the ZTE Axon 7 is easily one of the best phones you can buy for just above 240 dollars. Well, if you want me to be really picky I should mention that the capacitive buttons are not backlit and we don’t have the Android 8.0 but in general, you get an amazing overall package for this price. It’s simply a no-brainer and the Axon 7 is one of the easiest buying recommendations. At the end of the discussion, the ZTE Axon 7 may not be that newly released budget flagship phone of 2017 everyone is talking about but it offers so much value and I truly believe this is one of the best phones in this price range.
