Introduction: –

Hello, Guys! Today I’m going to do a full specifications comparison of two budget smartphones the Xiaomi Redmi 5A Vs 10.or D. These two phones price starting at 4,999 rupees or $90 and there is another variant for the Redmi 5A which is price 6,999 rupees or 120 dollars while the 10.or D also comes with a second variant which is price 5,999 or 100 dollars. So, which is the better device out of these two devices in the budget segment. Let’s find out-

 

SPECs: –

Both smartphones come with a pretty good of specifications in this price range. Both are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Quad-Core chipset, 2 gigabytes of RAM and 3 gigabytes RAM variants are also available. There is 16 and 32 gigabytes internal storage available. You have 3000 milliamp-hours battery on the Redmi 5A while 3500 milliamp-hours battery on the Tenor D. Now, the Redmi 5A comes with a smaller 5-inch display while the Tenor D comes with a 5.2-inch display. Both the displays are HD panel. Also, we have Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box on both the phones. We have MIUI 9 on the Redmi 5A while the Stock Android on the Tenor D.

 

Design: –

Design wise, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A is a better-looking smartphone out there. It has a slightly bitter finish and overall design looks pretty good in this price range. While the Tenor D does not offer anything in terms of design, it looks a bit dull when compared to the Redmi 5A.

The power and volume keys are on the right side on both smartphones. At the bottom side, we have the micro USB charging slot on both the phones. On top, we have 3.5mm Headphone jack on both the phones additionally we also have an IR blaster on the Redmi 5A. The back panel houses the camera unit and we have a fingerprint scanner on the Tenor D.

Now, if you look at the other options we have on-screen navigation buttons on the 10.or D while it’s a capacitive touch button on the Redmi 5A.

 

Display: –

Both smartphones come with an HD panel 720p display. Both are quite good in terms of display performance neither of them has any protection offered. The viewing angles and overall clarity looks quite good on both the phones. But we feel the Redmi 5A had a slight advantage over the 10.or D in terms of the overall display performance. Now, both the phones have pretty good touch response as well.

 

Camera: –

We have a 13-megapixel rear camera on both the devices with LED flash and 5-megapixel selfie shooter on both the phones.

Now, the camera interface we feel the Redmi 5A has definitely an edge over the Tenor D with a bit more options and features included.

Now, talking about the camera performance we feel that Redmi 5A has slightly better. Overall, performance in terms of the camera department the colours in over of sharpness levels so slightly better on the Redmi 5A when compared to the Tenor D.

The results are more pronounced when it comes to low-light captures. The Tenor D is a bit noisier and the focusing is a bit of an issue on the Tenor D while the Redmi 5A did a decent job altogether in terms of camera performance.

Now, the selfie performance is better on the Redmi 5A. Both have 5-megapixel cameras but the Redmi 5A did a slightly better job in terms of selfies.

 

Processor, Memory and Performance: –

Both smartphones run on Snapdragon 425 Quad-Core chipset and both are coupled with either 2 or 3 gigabytes of RAM offering 16 or 32-gigabyte storage variants. Now, we feel both the devices of a decent performance in day-to-day tasks neither of them had any issues in terms of performance and did a quite good job overall indeed today tasks and there was absolutely no lags or issues.

When it comes to gaming that’s where the Redmi 5A has an edge while the Redmi 5A is not a really great gaming device unless you can play medium graphics settings but on the 10.or D graphics settings are set to only low and you can change to high graphics settings. So, the gaming performance there is an edge for the Redmi 5A.

Now, both phones come with Dual SIM cards 4G LTE and VoLTE support and both have dedicated SD card slot as well. The call quality of both the phones are pretty good and no major issues and the speaker performance is decent on both these devices.

 

Software: –

This is one area where these two devices differ a lot both device run on Android Nougat out of the box while we have a custom UI on the Redmi 5A, this is an MIUI 9 which offers lots of additional features likes Second Space, Dual App support, Support for themes, we have App lock and whole lot features are included in this MIUI. So, if you are looking for a customized UI with a lot of additional features being offered then the MIUI perfectly fits that, it is one of the really good polished UI available in Redmi 5A. MIUI 9 offers a lot of additional features as well and this is on top of Android 7.1.2.

If you look the person who loves Stock Android then the 10.or D is the obvious choice because it does come with the Stock Android, no additional apps are included other than a couple of apps from Amazon. So, that’s the UI you will see that the pretty much Stock UI, no additional features being offered. So, that’s the software aspect of these two smartphones.

 

Battery: –

We have a 30000 milliamp-hours battery on the Redmi 5A while the 3500 milliamp-hours battery on the 10.or D. So, obviously the Tenor D has a better battery life and slightly overall better performance is from 10.or D into the battery department.

 

Conclusion: –

So, which is a better device to buy?

First, the Redmi 5A has a better design and build quality, the display also feels slightly better, a good customizable software, the camera is slightly better and overall looks quite good as well. So, that is the positive points of the Redmi 5A.

Now, the 10.or D has a slightly bigger display and if you are looking for the bigger display then this is a better choice, we have a Stock android and slated to get the Android Oreo that’s an additional feature, better battery life and additionally we also get a fingerprint scanner on this device so if you’re looking for a fingerprint scanner experience in this price range the 10.or D is the perfect choice.

The Tenor D is slightly cheaper than the Redmi 5A when it comes to the top variant that the 3 gigabytes RAM which is price 5,999 rupees or 100 dollars while it’s the 6,999 rupees or 120 dollars for the Redmi 5A.

So, both the devices have their own Pros and Cons so based on these advantages you can choose the better device out of these two devices.
