Xiaomi Note 2 Full Specification-
Hello Guys, Today I’m going to talk about on Xiaomi Note 2 full specification and reviews. A lot of people have been searching for a good alternative and thus next one from Xiaomi might be the closest you can get to the real deal. but is this phone merely a carbon copy or doesn’t have a lot more to offer beneath the surface. Let’s find out the Xiaomi Mi Note 2.
We seeing a lot of really interesting devices coming out of Chinese manufacturers as of late like the Honor Magic and even Xiaomi Mi Mix. Which was also announced alongside the Mi Note 2 but something that Chinese OEM have been notoriously known for is creating smartphone clones and Mi Note 2 is no exception. We’re pretty used to this by now but this is probably the first time we’ve seen a smartphone clone of a Phone that technically no longer exist.
If you missed the Note 7 design this might actually be a good thing because May Note 2 copies the Note 7 designed almost 280. The keyword here being almost the Edges of the front and back glass or curved or I shall be like to call it 3D glass. It’s all wrapped in a smooth solid metal frame. The Build quality is great and it’s a beautiful-looking device. If you can mention keep it clean from fingerprints, smudges, and dust that all show up very easily especially on the Piano Black version.
For the most part, it does feel very much like the Note 7 in the hand due to general shape and materials. But there are some notable differences aside vessels are much thicker make the MI Note 2 a tad wider and there are a much clearer and sharper distinction with the way the glass and metal meet along the side.
There’s also No S-Pen or Stylus looking at the bottom of the device and stayed all you have is a microphone the USB type-C port and a single speaker. The Headphone jack is on the opposite end at the top along with The IR blaster fro controls your TV or other peripherals at your home. On the right side, you’ve got the standard power and volume button which are also made of metal. So they’re very cliquey and tactile and finally on the left side Dual-SIM card slot. There’s no microSD card slot but there is plenty of internal storage with the phone being offered in 64 and 128GB capacity.
Home Button & Fingerprint: –
The front of the device features a home button. At first glance, the Home Button may look like a solid-state Home Button because of how close it is to the glass but it is a real physical Clicky home button. It does have capacity functionality so when the phone is unlocked. When using the Home Button integrated fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone. The fingerprint sensor works just as well as you would hope on a flagship phone. it’s very fast and accurate unlock and very rarely did it ever fail to unlock on the first attempt.
The screen is an AMOLED display measuring at 5.7inches but unlike most flagships that are featuring Quad-HD. The Mi Note 2 offer 1080p instead but honestly unless you plan on using this phone for VR, you probably won’t even notice to the naked eye the screen is still plenty sharp. of course, you have all the inherent benefits of an AMOLED screen like the deep blacks, high contrast, and punchy colors.
There’s also some options within the settings to adjust the color and contrast that make the screen look how you want and reading mode to make it easier on your eyes at night. If you like big screen phone for a more comfortable media experience you’ll definitely enjoy this one. Xiaomi did a great job of taking advantages of the large size by giving Mi Note 2 a very high DPI that allows you to see a lot more content the screen at on time.
Processor & Storage:-
You don’t have to dig very deep to see what the difference are on the inside it’s got all versions of Mi Note 2 has Snapdragon 821 chip but the base model will come with 4GB of RAM while the premium edition features 6GB of RAM. The premium edition will come in a global version that supports a total of 37 bands including 22 LTE bands. So this will be the one to pick up for use anywhere around the world for on GSM carriers here in the state like T-mobile and AT&T.
The version we have a review is the fully maxed out model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and performance has been nothing short of expectation. It’s a very fast and fluid experience with excellent touch response it plays all behind games with no lag or drop frames and with 6GB of RAM jumping back 4th between applications multitasking is not a problem with me know to at all but I don’t imagine that would be an issue on the 4GB of RAM version either.
Taking a look at the Camera It has an 8-megapixel camera on the front and a 22.5-megapixel camera on the rear and aperture F/2.0. Unfortunately, there’s no optical image stabilization but it does have electronic image stabilization. The camera interface is nothing out of the ordinary. It’s straight forward and simple and comes with a handful of cheap modes like Panorama, A group selfie mode beautifies and manual mode in the settings yourself. While the camera interface is simple and easy-to-use.
It could use some improvement if you take mostly portrait photos but only UI elements rotate when shooting in the landscape mode while the good majority stay locked in portrait. Of course, none of this matters at the picture quality is any good but the Mi Note 2 is capable of taking some great-looking photos that would say are on par with other flagships.
It’s fast the focus and capture photos and the 22.5-megapixel shots provide plenty of detail. It does deeply well in low light as far as capturing detail. It does sometimes struggle with white balance. It also much slower to capture photos in low-light when we use the HDR mode which makes it difficult to grab shots that are in focus without using some other form of stabilization like a tripod.
The Mi Note 2 is running the latest version of MIUI version 8 on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. MIUI version 8 was introduced earlier last year and it a host of new changes to the interface. There’s a new clean color palette that can be seen throughout the entire and Xiaomi standard set of app and the font has been updated to a fauna Xiaomi claims as much easier on the eyes even after several long hours of reading. The notifications panel received a facelift with notifications and toggles.
Now being bundled into one panel you can also get a convenient weather widget integrated into the notifications panel that will change color depending on the time of day. Aside from the MIUI 8 it also brings a lot of new and interesting features. One of them is called Dual Apps so what dual apps you can run two instances of the same after completely independent of one another which I thought pretty cool and can be very useful in applications. That don’t have multiple user login support apps like Facebook, Snapchat would be prime examples.
Another feature that stands out on MIUI 8 is the second space feature, second space basically lets you create a secondary profile with its own home screen and app that is completely separate from your main profile. If you use your phone for both works and play you could keep your main profile for personal use and have your other for business use and easily switch back between the two.
The biggest benefit of a 1080p panel is how much easier it is to your phone’s battery life and we combine that 1080p panel with a massive 4007 mAh battery. The Mi Note 2 easily last me all day sometimes even a day-and-a-half if I usage is a little bit more casual. the phone always last to be comfortably into the late-night hours of the day. Aside from the design and screen size Mi Note 2 similarities with the Note 7 pretty much.

Now to quickly recap the performance is really good, I mean it’s fast thanks to that Snapdragon 821 processor. Ample RAM and UFS 2.0 storage which is almost as fast as a set of 3 Drive and battery life are really good, Build quality nicely. The screen is a little bit of a letdown it’s not a sharp as other. At the screen, I find the maximum brightness of 540 lumens of brightness that I measured just doesn’t really seem enough in bright lighting conditions.
Now the Camera performance is really quite good sharp images very detailed images. Sometimes the auto white balance gets it wrong and the images come out a little bit for the blue tinge to them and the front-facing 8-megapixel camera when the focus is working properly does a good job. But I did find that sometimes it’s hit and miss.
The other thing is the audio quality on video both 4K 1080p front and rear is only 95KB per second which is really way too low. Xiaomi this is 2017 and you’re using a bit rate of something like 2009. So really they need to focus on improving the Audio and video and if they put a bit of screen in this model. It would really be a top Chinese flagship phone.
