Xiaomi Mi6 vs OnePlus 3T
Hello! Guys, Today, I’m going to take a look at Comparison between Xiaomi Mi6 vs OnePlus 3T. Xiaomi Mi6 is a good looking phone and it has bleeding-edge specifications. However, that OnePlus 3T is another phone that is very powerful, beautiful and it carries a similar price tag about 450 dollars. So, let’s find out-
Design & Display: –
These devices are completely different and that is obvious from the moment you put them side-by-side. The OnePlus 3T is taller and wider since it has a larger 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display. As supposed to the 5.15-inch 1080p IPS LCD panel found on the Xiaomi Mi6. Speaking of the Displays, both are great to look at but I should say that the OnePlus 3T has an edge here. It has AMOLED panel looks more vibrant.
The Xiaomi Mi6 is easier to hold and manage in one hand Since it has curved edges on the back. It is made of glass as opposed to cold Aluminum finish found on the OnePlus 3T, Even though the 3T is plainer looking that Mi6. I prefer the former because I just love all metal phones that do not attract fingerprint quickly and they are less prone to scratches.
It’s worth mentioning that the Xiaomi Mi6 is now splash-proof but the official certification number is not yet confirmed. Keep in mind that Splash-proof phones are not the same as water-resistant smartphones. The OnePlus 3T does not have any Splash-Proof properties.
The Capacitive buttons are very similar to each phone, they are nicely backlit and highly customizable. However, you can switch to the onscreen navigation keys on the OnePlus 3T. The Fingerprint scanners are equally fast accurate and they can unlock the phones stray from the standby mode.
Both phones have some extra features, for example, the Mi6 has the IR blaster that allows you to control your devices like TVs. The 3T has its own tricks up its sleeve like a hardware notification slider which is really convenient and the good-old has a 3.5mm headphone jack but Xiaomi Mi6 has not. I like the button placement on each phone but I prefer the OnePlus 3T’s Keys. They just feel more substantial.
The Xiaomi Mi6 has 8-megapixel front-facing shooter whereas the OnePlus 3T a 16-megapixel Camera. The Mi6 has a Dual Camera setup that consists of one 12-megapixel shooter with a wide-angle lens. Another 12-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens that gives you 2 times zoom and the ability to take beautiful portrait photos with that bokeh effect.
The main camera has a bright F/1.8 aperture lens for access optical image stabilization and Dual tone, Dual LED flash. The OnePlus 3T has a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture lens, optical image stabilization and single LED flash.
We have a familiar Xiaomi Camera app that allows you to take a picture very fast. You can also play with some basic shooting modes in settings for examples, we can adjust some image properties using the manual mode or should Slow-Motion videos at 720p. There is also two times lossless zoom mode that allows you to utilize that secondary camera sensor and this features come really handy. The results are pretty good definitely a lot better than using digital zoom.
The OnePlus 3T can take a picture very fast and daylight and slightly slower in them situations. We have a pretty simple and easy to use camera app. There is a manual mode among other modes that let you take a full manual control of the pictures you take.
When it comes to the daylight image quality that Xiaomi Mi6 clicks better-looking images that have more detail and they work sharper. Also, the Dual camera mode gives you more versatility because of that two times optical zoom.
The area where the OnePlus 3T wins are the dynamic range adjustment mainly because it has an auto HDR mode. Xiaomi advantages are also visible in macro shots as it captures more detail. Also, it has a shorter focus distance than the OnePlus 3T. As for the Low-light image quality, none of these phones is perfect but I prefer the OnePlus 3T. The pictures have a little bit less noise slightly more detail and the colour reproduction is better.
As for the Selfie image quality, the Mi6 takes better pictures, I have the OnePlus 3T at the exact same distance as the Xiaomi but images turned out soft and slightly out of focus. The low-light selfie quality is terrible on each phone but the OnePlus 3T takes brighter pictures.
When it comes to the 4k video quality both phones are comparable but I found the OnePlus 3T to reproduce more natural-looking colours. Also, the video stabilization works slightly better and finally the sound recording quality is better.
Processor, Memory & Performance: –
As for the Hardware, the Xiaomi Mi6 is a more powerful phone since it uses the Snapdragon 835 chip. As opposed to a bit older but still very powerful Snapdragon 811. Both phones have 6GB of RAM and they come in either 64 or 128 gigabytes storage options which are not expandable on either phone.
The Gaming performance is slightly better on the OnePlus 3T. The Gameplay is smooth as butter. The Xiaomi Mi6 is also very good but I found that they were a few skipped frames once I played games like asphalt 8 on the very highest graphics. I believe that this is due to an early software build and you don’t really need to worry about that. Since Xiaomi releases software updates very often.
User Interface: –
The user interface brings a ton of customization option for both phones, I have already mentioned customizing the ability of OnePlus 3t, the LED notification light and capacitive buttons. Other features of 3T that I love include the dark mode which looks just gorgeous on the AMOLED panel. Also, we can change the accent colours use some basic gesture control that works great and do some other things to customize the phone. This phone lag no matter what you do with it.
The Xiaomi Mi6 is no slouch either the user interface is also fast and responsive and I’m yet to see it lag. The MIUI 8.2 found on the Xiaomi Mi6 has, even more, features and customization options than the OnePlus 3T.
The Xiaomi Mi6 has a serious speaker setup which sounds a lot better than the OnePlus 3t’s single bottom mounted the speaker. The sound quality via the earphone is great using both phones.
When it comes to connectivity both phones perform great. Call quality and signal reception are good on each phone. The Wi-Fi range and speeds are compatible. Bluetooth works fine and finally, GPS is very accurate on each phone.
The OnePlus 3T has a slightly larger 3,400 mAh battery whereas the Xiaomi Mi6 has a 3350 mAh unit. Battery life is always subjective but with my usage, I could get about 5 or 6 hours screen on time on the Xiaomi Mi6. The results of OnePlus 3T were a little bit worse but I usually got about 4 and a half or 5 hours screen on time.
When it comes to charging both devices ship with the fast charges. However, the OnePlus 3T is an industry leader in this dash-charge technology that allows you to fully charge the phone in just about one hour. And the Mi6 takes about the 1 hour 30 minutes to fully charge.
So, there you have it the Xiaomi Mi6 versus OnePlus 3T, Both phones are one of the best in this price range and it all comes to your personal preference. If I had to choose I would take that OnePlus 3T for its simple yet Elegant All-Metal design. Almost stalk looking user interface, excellent performance, better low-light image quality and awesome dash-charge feature. Also, the OnePlus 3T still has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
If I wanted a more compact phone that has more sheer power stereo speakers, the IR blaster, better cameras and better battery life. I would take that Xiaomi Mi6.
At the end of the discussion, the Xiaomi Mi6 shifts up to be a better phone overall but for most users considering the fact that both phones have their Pros and Cons. We have to make your own decision as you know your personal preferences better than anyone else.
