Hello, Friends! Today, I’m going to take a look at Ulefone Mix Review. This is another day, another full-screen cheap phone from China. The Ulefone mix indeed looks great, it has pretty good specifications but obviously, it’s not a perfect smartphone. That’s why here I’m going to do a full review where I’m gonna tell you all the Pros and Cons. So, let’s start-
Design & Display: –
The Ulefone Mix is yet another full-screen phone from China on a budget. The 5.5-inch display sports only 720p resolution but it is by far the best screen I’ve seen on a cheap phone like this. It’s sharp, vibrant and quite bright. It is covered with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The back panel also looks nice especially to get a blue colour option. The metal frame does add a little bit of a premium look and feel but the side buttons kind of mess things up. First of all, they’re rattle and secondly, they are placed on the left side which is really not convenient for me. Besides, that I would say that the Ulefone Mix is well built and it indeed looks really nice even though this design has become repetitive in a budget phone segment.
On the rear panel, there’s a Dual camera setup that has 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel shooters. There is also a 13-megapixel selfie shooter that is inconveniently placed in the bottom right corner of the front panel.
The fingerprint scanner is accurate but the display could light up faster. The Ulefone Mix has a LED notification light, a Hybrid Dual SIM slot, it has a 3.5mm audio jack and a loudspeaker that does not usually impress with a quality of sound.
The overall camera performance is kind of underwhelming. First of all, the Ulefone Mix took all the images in the portrait mode which is a really annoying bug. The picture quality is quite bad even for the price of the phone. There could definitely be more detail and sharpness but keep in mind that I tested the camera on the very cloudy day meaning that the lighting was poor.
The images taken using that bokeh mode do not impress at all. In fact, this is the fake bokeh effect made by software that simply draws his circle around the centre of the picture.
Front Camera: –
Selfie pictures do not impress but they are usable for social media needs.
The 1080p video looks kind of mediocre like on most of the cheap phones. Again, it was recorded in a portrait mode meaning that I had to rotate the video manually.
Selfie camera records video only in 480p resolution and the footage kinds of terrible also the sound recording quality does not impress.
Performance & Memory: –
The Ulefone Mix ships with almost identical specifications to other budget bezel-less screen phone’s specifications. It is powered by MediaTek Helio P25 which is clocked at Octa-Core 1.5GHz Processor with 4 gigabytes of RAM and 64 gigabytes of storage which is expandable up to 256GB via the microSD card. Surprisingly, the gaming performance is pretty well, you should expect just a few skips frames on the highest graphics settings but the overall performance is pretty nice. However, the phone gets warm quite quickly.
What I love about the Ulefone Mix is that it ships with Stock Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. There isn’t much to talk about except for a few added features, for example, you can customize the keys in a lot of different ways and there are also some gesture controls that however don’t always work. So, I can’t really recommend using them. Besides that the UI performance decent and I found the phone to be fast and smooth on a daily basis.
The call quality is okay but it could be better. I didn’t have issues with other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or GPS. The Ulefone Mix has 12 sensors including the Gyroscope meaning that you can use this device with VR headsets.
A 3300 milliamp-hours battery usually provide yours with about 5 hours of screen time which is a standard result for these cheap phones. However, It takes about 2 hours to fully charge the phone with a supplied charger.
The Ulefone Mix is yet another cheap bezel-less phone from China that has the nice design, great display despite its 720p resolution, smooth overall performance and no issues with connectivity options well except for an average call quality. However, the button placement is not convenient for me and the buttons rattle. Also, the overall camera performance could be a lot better and the selfie camera placement does not really help solve the issue.
At the end of the discussion, the Ulefone Mix still offers quite a lot of value for the price as it looks beautiful, it has pretty good specs but as always consider all the Pros and Cons before making the purchase.
