Introduction: –

Hello Guys! Today I’m going to talk about the best smartphones of 2018. The Year 2018 has been ended and this year was the year of smartphones, unlike past years we got many new smartphones every single month but which other phones that stood out in 2018. Well, let’s find out-

We have different categories of phones here, and our team has picked the winners.

Best Budget Smartphone: –

Best budget phone

So, Let’s start with the budget phones, so we got a ton of budget phones this year with the ZenFone Max Pro M2, The Redmi Note 5 Pro, The Realme 2 Pro, The Nokia 6.1 Plus and the Honor 8X standing out. But, there can only be one winner and well the best budget phone of 2018 is the ZenFone Max Pro M2.

I mean the ZenFone Max Pro M1 was a solid budget phone but is nailed it with Max Pro M2. The Max Pro M2 took the strong points from the Max Pro M1 like the massive battery and Stock Android and brought a better design, faster performance and improved cameras.

It also has a few minor issues like the scratch from the back, but It’s just the best all-around package when it comes to a budget smartphone.

Best Mid-range Phone: –

Best mid-range phone

Mid-range phones were rather boring in the past but in 2018 things got pretty interesting. We got the Nokia 7 Plus, The Vivo 11 Pro, The Honor Play, The Nokia 8.1 in late 2018. But there’s one phone that things up, and that’s the Xiaomi POCO F1.

So, no points for guessing the Poco F1 the best mid-range smartphone of 2018. I know it’s more of a budget flagship, but its pricing makes it a mid-range phone, and it’s the price the Poco F1 is just unbeatable.

I mean who would have thought a Snapdragon 845 phone with some fantastic cameras would arrive at 20,000 rupees. The Poco f1 phone was not only the best mid-range phone of 2018, but it is also a game changer.

Best Budget Flagship Phone: –

Best budget flagship phone

Now, the budget flagship is a segment that OnePlus created and apart from OnePlus phones there was a lot of other excellent budget flagship this year like the ZenFone 5Z, The Poco F1, and the Huawei Nova 3 but the best budget flagship of 2018 is the OnePlus 6, not 6T.

And I have a number of reasons for why we went with OnePlus 6 instead of the 6T, for starters the OnePlus 6T does not bring a significant change from the OnePlus 6 unless it removes the 3.5mm headphone jack and the under screen fingerprint scanner and no matter what anyone tells you is just not good enough it’s super annoyed.

Now coming to the OnePlus 6, it was just a premium flagship smartphone with almost no flaws at all making it a perfect phone for people who wanted a flagship phone without spending flagship money. So, the winner is OnePlus 6.

Most Innovative Phone of 2018: –

This year we also get a lot of exciting, innovative smartphones, smartphones with popup cameras like the Vivo NEX with the slider designs like the Oppo Find X, The Honor Magic 2, Mi Mix 3, and innovative gaming phones like the Asus ROG phone. But the phone that blew us away from the most innovative phone of 2018 well, it’s got be the Oppo Find X.

The Oppo Find X with its fast motorised slider design, the iPhone like 3D face unlocks, and it’s almost bezel-less display looks like a phone straight from the future. It’s not perfect and has its share of issues but the Oppo Find X was a phone that stunned everyone this year, and we’re waiting for the Oppo Find X2 or whatever they’re going to call it.

Best Gaming Phone : –

Best gaming Phone

The Gaming phones have been all the rage in 2018, and we got a bunch of new gaming phones like the Xiaomi Black Shark, The Razer Phone 2, The Nubia Red Magic, The Asus ROG Phone but which is the best gaming phone of 2018. Well, I’m sure you already guessed it, and yes the winner is the Asus ROG Phone.

Now, this is a gaming phone packed with some fantastic features like Air triggers an innovative cooling system and some cool accessories. Unless it has got top of the line specs and a design that screams gaming, it’s innovative.

Best Camera Phone: –

Best Camera Phone

Cameras and phones got even better in 2018 and this year flagships phones like the Galaxy Note 9, The iPhone XS, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, and the Google Pixel 3 came with some fantastic camera capabilities. But we all know which is the best camera phone of 2018 well, it’s the Pixel 3, and it’s not a surprise.

The Google Pixel 3 with its single camera at a time when phones are coming with four cameras takes photos that are just better than the competition in almost any scenario out there. I know it lags when it comes to DXO mark scores but does that even matter anymore Plus the Pixel 3 with its innovative features like Night sight stunned everyone.

There’s still no focus 60 FPS support, and I prefer the videos from the iPhone XS. But overall the Pixel 3 is the best camera phone of this year.

We got some fantastic flagships in 2018. We got the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus at the start of the year, the Huawei P20 Pro, the iPhone XS, The Pixel 3, The Galaxy Note 9, and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. But when it comes to the absolute best flagship of 2018, it was a close call between the iPhone 10S and the Galaxy Note 9, having said that there can only one winner, so the best flagship of 2018 is the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

The Note 9 is a phone that does almost everything right and then some more. Its got a great display, premium design powerful speakers and top of the line cameras plus it has some unique features that help it truly stand out. There’s the 3.5mm headphone jack of course, and then there’s the DEX mode which is super cool. And the New S-Pen with its unique features.

The Galaxy Note 9 is not only the best flagship of 2018 it’s also the most underrated phone of 2018.

Well, we have the Google Pixel 3 with its camera innovations, the features pack Galaxy Note 9, The Stunning Huawei Mate 20 Pro, The game-changing Poco F1 and the Premium OnePlus 6T. Well, the phone of the year is the Xiaomi Poco F1.

Yes, the Poco F1 which arrived and truly conquered the mid-range smartphone segment. Look, the Poco F1 is not a perfect phone it has it’s a fair share of issues, but if there’s one phone that genuinely made a long-lasting impact in the smartphone world this year, it has to be the Poco F1, the Phone of the Year.
