Hello, Guys, Today, I’m going to take a look at Gionee A1 review. Gionee has launched is a self-focused smartphone which is Gionee A1 2017, April. It comes with many premium features, I would say including an all-metal body, 4000 mAh battery and 16-MP selfie Camera and more. So let’s start-
This is a beautifully crafted smartphone, It has been made of aircraft-grade aluminum and is quite impressive and the sides are curved. You can easily hold in your single hand but it’s slightly bigger I guess despite the fact that this has a display of 5.5-inch but still you can hold it. On the back rear camera has been provided the 13-megapixel rear camera with the Dual LED flash. below the LED flash given Gionee logo. And there are symmetrical lines have been given on the top and below of the phone’s backside.
On the left to make it quite impressive and right-hand side there is a power button and volume rockers and left side there is a SIM slot tray, this is hybrid SIM slot. top of the phone there is a 3.5mm headphone jack and bottom side there are charging slot USB-c type port and speaker. front of the phone bottom side there is a home button which also works as a fingerprint scanner for unlocking the phone. Gionee claims it takes 0.2 seconds to unlock the phone but in my opinion, it takes less than 0.2 seconds.
So this fingerprint scanner is quite fast.
This phone has a display of 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Which is a quite good and even Sun visibility, outside visibility is also good. The colors are exceptionally vibrant. The brilliant viewing angle and it’s very crisp and bright.
It has a 13-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture Phase detection autofocus camera with LED flash. It comes with various modes also night, professional, Time-lapse, Slow-motion, smart scan, GIF etc. The front camera on this device is the primary focus as it’s a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with F/2.0 aperture and 1/3 in sensor size which is huge. And in low-light also the shots that I got from the camera were really great.
The Pixel size on this Phone is 1.12 micrometer that’s also great for low-light shots. And even while shooting 720p videos from the front camera or full HD videos from the primary camera even in low-light conditions the overall video quality was respectable.
Let’s talk about the performance of this smartphone it comes with the MediaTek Helio P10 chipset, 64GB of internal storage, 4GB of RAM. The P10 is an Octa-Core chipset but it’s quite outdated now. It comes with Android 7.0 Nougat and it does have every sensor that you might need for a good smartphone experience.
And If I talk about the benchmark performance then it scored 50568 on the unto do benchmarks which are an above average score and it’s in the range of slightly good score 712 on the Geekbench for benchmark and in the range of 2000’s for the multi-core score.
Let’s talk about the User-interface of this device, It comes to the one-page style UI and OS on this phone is known by the name of Amigo OS 4.0 which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The overall experience was smooth and I felt a little lag while using few applications but not with most of the applications.
It has swiped from bottom up in order to access notifications this is something that takes some time getting used to. There is one interesting feature right on the lock screen of Gionee devices this is known as Amigo story locker. Every time you switch off your screen and switch on you are greeted by a new story and you can tap on it to read more.
Now let’s talk about the audio quality of this device, the audio output was acceptable. It is loud though not very bass heavy but it was loud and acceptable for a smartphone.
This phone comes with very powerful battery also that is 4010 mAh despite that screen 7 hours 41 minutes of screen on time which means that you can safely use this device moderately for about 1 and half days. In my usage, I have seen that this battery is quite good. This device also comes with fast charging with 18 MW fast charging and you can charge in 2 hours from 0-100%.
Overall the build and design quality looks very solid and substantial however slightly bigger and heavier. And then good sound output, good front camera, The UI it comes with Android 7.0 Nougat. The performance is certainly week the chipset use here is older. But it’s perfectly fine for your day-to-day life. It could play almost all the demanding games nicely. So according to me, this phone is very good buying in under 20,000rs or 300 dollars.
