Blackberry DTEK60 Review

Introduction: –

Hello! Guys, Today I’m going to do a take a look on BlackBerry DTEK60 Review. Now, I know some of you are probably thinking that this phone came out like five 5 months ago why are you reviewing it now?  So, let’s take a look-

Design: –

Blackberry DTEK60 Design review

The BlackBerry DTEK60 its build quality on the front and the back of the phone you have a glass with the edges being slightly curved. Which leads to a really comfortable feeling in the hand. As far as the frame of the phone goes it smooth metal. On the left side of the phone, you have power button with your Nano SIM tray and a microSD card slot. On the right side, you have the volume rocker and the convenience key. On the bottom of the phone, you have a USB type-c port on the right. On the top of the phone, you have a headphone jack on the left.

Blackberry DTEK60 fingerprint sensor

Now my favorite part of the DTEK60 is built is the super small and sleek fingerprint sensor found on the back of the phone that works relatively well. The build quality was that the power button was on the top left and the volume rocker was on the top right. Now, most phones kinda have this the other way around and I personally prefer it that way as well. but it’s really not a deal breaker at all and it’s something I got used to relatively quick.

Now the DTEK60 is really an interesting phone and the fact that it’s priced like a mid-range phone. But it’s got the internal specs of the 2016 flagship.

Processor & Memory: –

It comes with the Snapdragon 820 and 4GB of RAM that is more than enough for having is a smooth experience for a longer period of time. In my testing, the Snapdragon 820 processor is really fast and it is in most of the flagship phones like Galaxy S7, LG G5 and the HTC 10.
The phone performs really snappy day-to-day tasks and switching back and front between numerous apps go without a hitch. It performs just about as well as you’d expect it to given the nice.

Display: –

Blackberry DTEK60 display review

It’s screen such that 5.5inches and its Quad HD AMOLED, 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. Now that equates to about 534PPI. It’s not anything new or revolutionary. but it’s still an amazing screen viewing angles on the screen is solid and outdoor visibility is pretty decent. It’s an AMOLED panel you get really rich and vibrant colors. When you pair the screen with two front-facing and rear-facing speakers. You get good multimedia experience.

Camera: –

Let’s take a look on Camera- The rear camera on the DTEK60 is 21-megapixels and it takes great photos in good lighting conditions but low light pictures are not good. The phone can shoot video in 4K and also take slow-motion video.

Software: –

I got stock Android OS but they made slight changes to it and I really enjoyed the changes. As far as the exact software its android 6.1 marshmallows. Blackberry sends out the latest security patches every month directly from google. Now I’m going to talk about three specific software enhancements that really help in daily life with the DTEK60.

The first one is the notification panel, The second one is something relatively small but it still made a huge impact on me, I don’t why when you plug the phone into charge. You’ll see a green bar climb up the right which shows you the how much battery is a charge. It looks really cool. And the last one is Blackberry DTEK security suite, this is an application that shows you in depth analysis of your phone’s current security status.

Productivity: –

Blackberry DTEK60 Hub

You also get tons of productivity design software on the phone as well. The productivity tab it’s on the right side of the screen. My favorite productivity application on the DTEK60 is the blackberry hub. If you one stop shop for all of your calls, texts, emails and social media notifications basically everything that’s important to you in your everyday life. Now, there’s only one issue I have with the software and that’s how long it takes to receive the major android upgrade.

Battery: –

Blackberry DTEK60 battery life

Well, you’ll be happy to know that it does The DTEK60 has one of the most impressive battery life out of all the phones I have tested so far. It only has 3000 mAh but on my first day, I had almost 6hours of screen on time before the phone was close to dying and rest of my review period which was 6-7 more days.

Conclusion: –

So, my overall verdict of the BlackBerry DTEK60 is that really impressive especially given the price range. The phone has an obvious focus on business and productivity but that doesn’t stop it from being an incredible all around performer.

So, 450  dollars you get an excellent screen, awesome build quality, amazing battery life, snappy performance and a good camera. which is basically the all around packages for a smartphone. For someone who values software updates like I said you should probably steer clear and look at something else but for everyone else, I have absolutely no problems recommending this phone.

Now if you think a 1440p display + Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM is really awesome stuff and worth your money then you should go for LG G5. This phone is getting really cheap nowadays.
